Who handles the data

What is collected

Only what you type into the form: name, work email, company or site, budget range, your message and — depending on the page you write from — the service, the platforms, the problem or the kind of support you are after.

There is no CAPTCHA and your IP address is not recorded. The anti-spam checks apply only to what you send through the form and collect nothing else about you.

Why it is collected

To reply to you and, if we decide to work together, to run the engagement. Not to build a profile, and not for advertising.

Where it goes

The form is handled by a script on this site. It does not go through an external form service and it is not written to any database: the message is not kept on the site's server.

From there it leaves as email, over an encrypted connection, to Andrea's work mailbox, where it is delivered and kept. The address you type into the form is used as the reply address.

Nothing is sold, shared or passed to third parties for commercial purposes.

How long it is kept

Contact enquiries are kept for 12 months from the last contact.

If an enquiry turns into a working relationship, the data needed for administrative, contractual or legal obligations may be kept longer, for as long as those obligations require.

Usage statistics

The site can use Google Analytics to understand how it is used: which pages get read, from what kind of device, for how long. It is aggregate usage data and it is there so I can see what works on the site. It is not used for advertising and it is not combined with anything you type into the form.

Google Analytics only runs if you accept it. You are asked on your first visit: until you choose, and if you choose to decline, the site loads nothing from Google and sets no analytics cookies. If you accept, Google Analytics is loaded and sets its own cookies in your browser.

You can change your mind at any time: "Analytics preferences" sits at the foot of every page. If you move from accepted to declined, the analytics cookies already set are removed.

When you send the form with statistics enabled, the fact that an enquiry happened is recorded, along with the page it came from and the site language. Your name, email, company, budget and message are never sent to Google Analytics.

What you can ask for

To see your data, correct it, delete it, restrict its use or receive it as a file. Use the contact form on this site and you get an answer within one month, as the GDPR requires.

Cookies and third parties

Without your consent to statistics, this site sets no cookies: none for profiling, none technical, and the form sets none either. The choice you make about statistics is saved in your browser, not in a cookie.

The typefaces are hosted here, so browsing the site does not in itself open a connection to anyone else. The one exception is Google Analytics, and only if you have accepted it: in that case your browser connects to Google and Google sets its own cookies. If you decline, that connection does not happen.
